Frequently asked questions

How Evidence Sales works.

Evidence Sales verifies deal progress through customer evidence and keeps forecast judgment beside the proof supporting it. These answers cover the methodology, pipeline workflow, recurring reviews, reporting teams, licenses, security, and pricing.

Getting started

What is Evidence Sales?

Evidence Sales is a sales workflow built around verifiable customer evidence. Reps work leads and deals, collect proof as the opportunity develops, and keep forecast judgment beside the evidence supporting it.

How is Evidence Sales different from a CRM?

A CRM is primarily a system of record. Evidence Sales focuses on whether the customer has actually completed the proof required for the opportunity to progress. It is designed to make the pipeline and forecast easier to defend.

How do I get started?

Start with your real pipeline. Add a deal directly or import leads and convert real opportunities into deals. Then log customer evidence as the pursuit develops and use Forecast, Won & Lost, and Business Review to read the book.

Is Evidence Sales available now?

Pro includes a 30-day full-access trial with no card required, then costs $20 per active user each month. Enterprise licensing is available through sales.

The PROVE methodology

PROVE gives the team a common language for the customer evidence behind a deal. Each letter identifies what the team needs to establish, what is still missing, and where the rep should focus next.

P: Problem

Establish that the customer has a meaningful business problem and a measurable outcome worth pursuing. The proof should come from the customer's situation and priorities, not only from the seller's assumptions.

R: Relationships

Confirm that the people required to evaluate, approve, and sign are engaged. This includes the champion, economic buyer, decision makers, and signatory relevant to the deal.

O: Outcome Fit

Show that the customer has confirmed the use cases and that the proposed solution fits the outcome they need. Interest or a completed demonstration alone does not establish fit.

V: Validation

Complete the technical and commercial proof the deal requires. When a technical evaluation is needed, it must be kicked off and passed before the deal can move beyond validation.

E: Execution

Establish a clear path to a recorded outcome. The deal ends as won or lost with a reason and the rep's account of what happened, or as a declared duplicate linked to the deal that replaced it.

How evidence works inside PROVE

How are deal stages determined?

Stages are earned through fixed proof gates. A deal moves when the required evidence for the next phase is complete. The stage is derived from the evidence instead of being assigned as a rep opinion.

What counts as evidence?

Evidence is a verifiable customer outcome tied to a proof gate. Examples include an economic buyer being engaged, use cases being confirmed, required qualification being completed, or a quote being approved.

Why require evidence?

Activity and confidence do not necessarily mean a deal progressed. Evidence Sales separates what the seller did from what the customer proved, so stage movement reflects a change in the opportunity rather than a change in opinion.

What is the difference between rep activity and customer action?

Sending a proposal is rep activity. A customer reviewing it, approving it, engaging the right stakeholder, or completing another agreed step is customer action. Evidence Sales is designed to give customer action more weight than seller activity.

Can a rep manually choose the deal stage?

No. Evidence Sales derives the stage from the proof gates the deal has cleared. This keeps the stage tied to the evidence recorded on the deal.

Deals and forecasting

How does forecasting work?

The rep owns the forecast judgment. Evidence Sales keeps that forecast amount visible beside the approved quote evidence behind it, making it easier to see where the rep forecast and customer proof agree or diverge.

What happens when a deal stalls?

The product keeps the missing proof visible so the rep can see what has not been established yet. A meeting by itself does not move the deal if it creates no new evidence.

Can deals be deleted?

No. The current product preserves deals and closes the loop through Won & Lost rather than allowing a pursuit to disappear from the record.

Does Evidence Sales support leads?

Yes. Leads are a separate workspace that feeds the deal workflow. Teams can add leads, import lead lists, and convert real opportunities into deals without treating every expression of interest as pipeline.

For managers and Admins

What can an organization Admin manage?

Admins manage licenses, invitations, Admin, Manager, and Member roles, billing, and every reporting team in the organization. The first account is an Admin. An organization with two or more active accounts must keep at least two active Admins. Each rep continues to own and edit their own book.

What is the difference between a reporting team and a license?

A license is one active person who can enter the Evidence Sales portal. Every active Admin, Manager, or Member consumes one license. Reporting teams are unlimited, non-billable groups used to organize those licensed users, and assigning one person to several teams still consumes only one license. A pending invitation does not consume a license until the person activates portal access.

Who can manage reporting teams?

Admins can manage every reporting team. Managers can create and organize reporting teams within the branch they are authorized to manage. Members cannot manage the organization structure.

What happens when a reporting team is deleted?

Deleting a reporting team removes its team assignments. It does not delete a user, revoke a license, or remove anyone's leads, deals, evidence, forecast, or outcomes. A team with child teams must have those child teams removed first.

What if an Admin loses access?

Start with password reset when the Admin still controls their email account. If the organization cannot access its Admin accounts, submit the support form below. EvidenceSales will verify organization authority before changing Admin access.

Can managers inspect a rep's pipeline?

Yes. Authorized managers can read a rep's Deals, Forecast, Won & Lost, and Business Review. Those views are read only: the rep owns the forecast judgment, and managers cannot rewrite the rep's evidence or deal data.

What does the forecast rollup show?

Managers and Admins can compare their own book, their reports, and the combined team total. Rollup shows quota, won revenue, forecast amount, evidence, target gap, and proof gap by year, quarter, month, and person.

Does a manager's rollup replace their own forecast?

No. Forecast remains the signed-in person's editable forecast, including for a player-manager. Rollup is a separate read-only team view, so individual ownership and team reporting stay distinct.

How does Evidence Sales help with forecast reviews?

Managers can compare each rep's forecast judgment with the approved quote evidence behind it and investigate target or proof gaps without changing the underlying book. Business Review provides a read-only summary across pipeline, forecast, and outcomes.

Does Evidence Sales support enterprise sign in?

Yes. Enterprise access can use the customer's configured identity provider. Users choose the organization's single sign on option and credential recovery stays with that identity provider.

Security and data

How is account access protected?

Evidence Sales requires authenticated access to the application. Team membership and roles control what users can access, and manager views are restricted to the teams assigned to that manager.

Does Evidence Sales store user passwords?

The application delegates password handling and recovery to its identity systems rather than displaying or storing a user's password in Evidence Sales.

Is Evidence Sales SOC 2 certified?

No SOC 2 certification claim is currently published. Evidence Sales does not represent itself as holding a compliance certification that has not been completed and documented.

Does Evidence Sales use AI to decide deal stages?

Deal stages are based on the product's defined evidence gates. The public product methodology does not depend on an AI model making an opaque stage decision.

Pricing and access

How much does Evidence Sales cost?

Pro costs $20 per active user each month after a shared 30-day organization trial. Reporting teams are unlimited and do not affect billing. Pending invitations do not consume a license. Enterprise pricing is custom.
